I’m an Apple girl. I always have been. But, when it comes to blogging my lil’ ol iWeb is just not cutting it. It became such a pain in the butt to actually publish an update that I haven’t done so in ages. This isn’t because I haven’t been shooting, rather it’s because I’m entirely too busy to screw around with the back routes I have to take to make iWeb do what I want.  So, as of today I’ll be using WordPress software and hoping that it’ll work out all nice and pretty for us. I have a backlog of blogs to take care of here and if you’d like to take a peek at the old ones it’s hiding out at http://www.gretchendrewphotography.com/Blog/Blog.html

You can expect some tweaks to the format as I play around with WordPress and decide what I want it to do for me. But you don’t really care about that, do you? You are here for the photos, and photos there will be. While perusing the photo action please note that WordPress allows readers to leave comments! Yes, comments! Love it.

This Victorian is an historic house located in a park here in Eugene. I’ve had my eye on it, trying to figure out the right shot to use it for. This one did the trick.

I tend to get obsessed with a certain style of photography. These obsessions last for about a week, until I get three days worth of frustrated, or feel like I know the basics enough to move on. HDR is one of those styles, or I should say processes. When shooting for HDR you take the same shot at three different exposures then you moosh them all together. Wiki can probably explain it better: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_dynamic_range_imaging

My brother and I went out into the hills in search of an old barn to shoot in HDR. We found all sorts of odd things, and explosions, but we didn’t find the barn until we made our way home.

I recently discovered the wonder that is Photoshop textures. I posted a bit about it previously, but I’d like to post this picture as well. I have these old shots that I really like before, but now I feel like I can take them to the next layer. That’s a little PS joke for ya. Har.

I found out that my dear friend Grete is pregnant. Grete has changed her life so much since I’ve known her, you may recognize her from her wreck the dress session I did earlier this year. When I found out that she was with baby I wanted to create a piece for her to celebrate. This is a combination of a few different textures and a picture of tulips in my yard this spring. Photoshop is my friend. So is Grete.
